Poor Serena...

So much shit came down on my poor mage character tonight. First, as a little background, she ran away from home with her music tutor/lover, and they were on Boston trying to find a place to stay. They get attacked and her lover gets shot in the head. She manages to escape with the aid of Susanne's character, Nicole, and moves in with her and works on learning about magic and how to defend herself. She also makes friends with Adam's character Uriel, who is paralyzed, blind, and deaf and senses the world through his magic. Paul's character John is around as well, but not really a bond.

Then, Serena gets a job in the coffee shop run by another mage, and after her first day, which went rather well, one of the patrons keels over and her mother's voice comes out of his head, pleading for help. So, our group packs up and heads across Mass. to rescue her. They find a house full of the same type of guys who shot Serena's lover in the head, and storm it. Serena is knocked out in the inital fight, but this guy named Rosencrantz comes along and gets her and Nicole out of there. But John was captured, so they go back for him. They manage to get in with Rosencrantz's help, though Uriel can't get in because of a magic ward, Serena shoots one in the head, the others are dealt with, then she and Nicole go downstairs. They find John vanished through a door into the Umbra, and Serena's mother freshly dead. So Nicole goes through the door, ordering Serena not to follow. So she goes outside to talk to Uriel, who vanishes the second he stops whirling around the ward. She goes to Rosencrantz and cries on him for a little bit, then explains where John and Nicole went. Rosencrantz tells her that they are more than likely dead, and she should go home. So, she leaves them a note and gets into the van to head back to Boston. She's all alone. Her lover and mother are both dead, her father is a prick who disowned her, and her friends are all missing, presumed dead. And there was nothing she could do about any of it. It sucks to be her.

In other news, I drove a lot today. Went to Clarion to visit Jay, then home to see my mom and dad, then to Meadville to take Matt out for tea and pie. Elisha went with me, and we had a good day, saw the ALF parade in Clarion, learned new ways to get places, visited. Was a good day.
