I ran D&D tonight. The plot I had ready took till about 10:00, so I just came up with more, and it kept us there till 1:30. It's convoluted. Everything started with my pc's getting their first mission from the hero school. They went off, and after they were halfway there, a cleric hailed them and asked for aid. They went inside, where they were ambushed by three rangers, three fighters, and the cleric. They defeated them, then went downstairs to face another cleric. He escaped by melding with the rock that was in the middle of the chamber that they were in. After he was gone, they got to examine the sacrificial victim by what appeared to be a doorway that led to the rock wall of the cave. It was covered by strange hieroglyphs, a few of them matching the amulets that the clerics wore. Josh, in his brilliance, decided to put the amulet on, and it burnt him, and now he has a scar of the sigil of a dark god.
That was my plot. It was really rather sad. So, we kept going. They arrived at their destination, Marianville, where the Lady Aemilia, daughter of the king, had sent for their aid in uncovering the evil she sensed behind Gunter, her soon-to-be fiance. Vita's character barged into court and announced his presence, which made things awkward for the Lady, and he ended up reducing her to tears after she managed to get him alone to talk.
As they looked into it, which they didn't seem to keen on doing, they eventually found a priestess at the local temple who had found a secret passage that led to another doorway similiar to the one they found on their way to Marianville, only instead of rock, there was a shimery portal there. So they went through it. They had a bit of a tussel with the priests on the other side, since John and Josh were loud, then John refused to leave, so the priests kicked him out, leaving him very far, geographically, from the rest of the party. Vita managed to drag him back down into the chamber with the portal, and that is pretty much were we wrapped up. There was a lot of internal struggle between party members, and lots of other stuff happened before they found the portal, but I'm tired and I need to get to bed and writing it all down would take away all of my sleepy time. So off to bed I go.
