Yesterday, I got an email from Douglas Cohen to let me know that he's passing my story "Fox-Woman" up the chain of command at Realms of Fantasy. I have to admit, that made me do a bit of happy dancing around the apartment. I know it isn't anything close to actually getting the story printed, but it's a pretty big step up from the form rejection that I got the last time I sent them a story. I mean, they didn't even bother writing the title of my story on it.
I'm off from school this week, which means free time! So I spent the day reading links from Joseph's website and one of the articles quoted Douglas Cohen. I got an email from him, and he's quoted in actual articles! On the internet! About writing! I do really feel like I'm at least on the ladder.
Also, I googled myself and found this... http://www.abroad.pitt.edu/appsandforms/roadlesstraveledfall2005.pdf which I do vaguely remember sending stuff to, but I don't remember them telling me that they were going to use it. It's fun to find how many other Jamie Lackeys there are on the internet. Most of them seem to be dead, though.

Whoa! I've been trying to crack Realms forever and have never gotten more than the Yellow Form of Promise rejection slip. (As opposed to the Blue Form of Death, which is what most submissions get.) Nice!
