White Water Rafting!

This weekend, I went White Water Rafting in West Virginia. Savannah, Adam, Jeremy, Mick, Artie, and Harriet all went as well. There were three guys with us that I didn't really know, too. I'm not entirely clear on their names.

Savannah drove us down on Friday, we listened to my first Italian language cd and a bunch of music, and the ride was nice. We stopped for food at McDonalds, where I picked up a crazy happy meal toy. He's really quite creepy. He's staring at me right now.

We got there and set up camp and had a lovely pork dinner, then we went and picked up supplies for smores and some drinks, then we all sat around the fire and just chilled. I got a shoulder rub from one of the extra guys, I think his name was Christopher. I like shoulder rubs. Apparently he was trying to put the moves on me. After Adam and Savannah pointed it out, I guess I could see it. But according to Adam he was looking at me a lot, and I never noticed.

We went to bed, and promptly the people around us started being loud. I was trying to get to sleep, all wrapped up in my sleeping bag, when I saw Adam's shadow on the side of my tent. I sat up and said "Psst! Adam! Are you going to kill them?" Referring to the loud assholes, of course. Adam said "Sure." I asked, "Do you want help?" And he responded "Okay." Then he walked away. I found out the next morning that he thought I was a voice in his head. Which was hilarious. He figured that the voices in his head would follow him. I was just suprised that he didn't recoginze my voice.

The next morning, after a little very poor sleep, we woke up, broke camp, had breakfast, climbed into our clammy wetsuits, then piled into the bus. It was FREEZING. I didn't stop shivering till after lunch when Jeremy took off his fleece because he was too warm and I stole it. The rafting was good. I like rafting. Why else would I keep going back? We got through the trip without anyone falling out of the raft, though when Savannah and I switched to the front I almost did get swept over the side twice. I fell backwards right into Christopher's (if that is really his name) lap.

When got to the end of the river section that we were doing (We went on the Upper and Middle Gauley) we got out of our rafts, carried them to the bus, grabbed a drink, (woot, free beer) and rode back to the camp. Then I drove part of the way home, then turned the keys over to Savannah after I resorted to biting and slapping myself to stay awake. I got home, got my shower, and went to bed. I love my bed. A lot.

And this is a monster post. But congratulations, fair reader! You're done!
